Blaženka Perica
Blaženka Perica is a historian and theoretician of art and visual culture. She teaches since 2008. courses in history, theory and philosophy of art at the Arts Academy of the University of Split. She also taught at the Arts Academy in Osijek and she is a mentor and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb/Croatia within the program of postgraduate studies.
From 1986 to 2007 she worked as a curator in Germany where she concluded her PhD at the University of Kassel in 1999 with prof. Hannes Bӧhringer on the subject of the “Specific Objects. Theorie und Praxis im Werk von Donald Judd”. She has worked as a research associate and/or curator in several museums (Kunstsammlung NRW, Museum Wiesbaden, Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt) and in various renowned galleries in Germany.
Blaženka Perica is the author of a large number of texts and catalogues, as well as projects of international and local character. She is also a curator of many solo artists’ exhibitions, and the group exhibitions include “Dimensions of humor”, XI. Triennial of Croatian Sculpture 2012, and 38th Split Salon 2013. In addition to many contributions to international scientific symposia, Blaženka Perica has been writing reviews for well-known scientific publications since 2014.
