Jadranka Vinterhalter
Jadranka Vinterhalter is an art historian, curator and museum counsellor.
She graduated art history (museology) at the University in Belgrade in 1971. Her work as curator has since 1974 encompassed numerous fields of museum practice: public relations, educational programs, head of museum collections, exhibition curating, organization of workshops and events, publishing projects, and visual art documentation. She has worked in several institutions in Zagreb and Belgrade: Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade (1974–1984), Museum Documentation Centre, MDC Zagreb (1984–1994), Soros Center for Contemporary Art SCCA-Zagreb / Institute of Contemporary Art SCCA Zagreb (1994–2000), and Museum of Contemporary Art, MSU Zagreb, (2000–2013).
Since 2013 she is retired and is working on several large-scale research and exhibition projects, such as Bauhaus – networking ideas and practice – BAUNET (2013–2015) (in collaboration with Vesna Meštrić); Ninties: Scars (2018–2020) (team member). She was also editor for the contemporary art segment in the Likovni leksikon / Lexicon of Visual Arts, published by LZMK Zagreb in 2014.
She writes and publishes articles on museology and museum practice, as well as texts on contemporary art and visual artists in exhibition catalogues and art magazines.
