Suzana Marjanić
Suzana Marjanić (1969) is on the staff at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research in Zagreb, where she realises her interests in the theories of ritual and myth (dissertation: Mythical in oral literature – tracing Nodilo’s re/construction of the “old faith” of the Serbs and the Croats, IEF, manuscript 1774, 2002), critical animal studies and the performance studies.
She published the book Voices of “Bygone Days”: Transgressions of Worlds in Krleža’s Notes 1914-1921/22 (Naklada MD, 2005), Chronotope of Croatian Performance Art: From Traveleri until Today (Bijeli val / Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research / Školska knjiga, 2014) and The Topoi of Performance Art: A Local Perspective (Zagreb, Durieux, HS AICA, 2017).
She co-edited the collection Cultural Bestiary (Zagreb, 2007) and its sequel Literary Animal: Cultural Bestiary 2 (Zagreb, 2012) with Antonija Zaradija Kiš, The Folklore Studies Reader (Zagreb, 2010) with Marijana Hameršak, Mythical Anthology (Zagreb, 2010) with Ines Prica, the collection Krleža’s EU/rope furiosum (Koprivnica, 2016) with Bojan Koštić and the collection Ecofeminism: between Green and Women’s studies (Zagreb, Durieux, 2020) with Goran Đurđević.
Editorship:
Editorial board member of Treća: Journal of the Centre for Women’s Studies (from 2004) and the bi-weekly journal Zarez (cancelled in 2016), in which she has been Editor of the section “Social and Cultural Anthropology” since January 2007. She co-edited several essays on animal rights in Zarez and has been systematically publishing essays on Croatian performances and actions, as well as interviews with performance artists. She was also editor of the issue of Treća dedicated to vegan ecofeminism (issue 1/vol.10, 2008).
Since 2015 she in the editorial board of Narodna umjetnost.

Awards:
