Letter to Museums
The International Office
Paris, 29 November 2021
To Whom It May Concern,
The International Association of Art Critics (AICA), affiliated with UNESCO as a non-governmental organization (NGO) since the late 1940s and with national sections in over 60
countries, is the recognized and professional organization in the field of art criticism.
The AICA Press Card, which provides free and unlimited access and professional courtesy to
AICA members, is recognized and honoured by museums and art institutions around the world.
By enabling AICA members to carry out the professional research and tasks of the profession of
art criticism, the museums and art institutions benefit from increased public awareness and
scholarly interest created by the published work by our members in magazines, newspapers,
books, and electronic media. Virtually all museums and art institutions on all continents honour
the AICA Press Card. If your institution is not aware of this agreement, which allows our
members free access to all museums, art centers and art fairs in every country in the world, we
ask you to bring this arrangement into operation promptly. We enclose a facsimile of the AICA
Press Card for the information of your staff. The card is only valid with the sticker indicating the
current year.
The AICA Executive Bureau and the Administrative Council request your full cooperation in
granting AICA members free access upon presentation of the AICA Press Card, as is customary
everywhere. Thank you in advance for your immediate attention to this matter. We will
appreciate your cooperation and look forward to visiting your institution. Please feel free to
write to us with any questions.
Sincerely yours,
Lisbeth Rebollo Gonçalves Marc Partouche. Mathilde Roman
